Bethanie Blanchard is a media and marketing strategist specialising in retail media.

She is Head of Strategy & Planning for Coles 360, the Retail Media arm of Coles, leading strategy across both Supermarkets and Liquor. She is passionate about building brands through media and has previously held positions as Head of Strategy for Carat Melbourne, and strategy roles at publishers including News Corp and Bauer Media.

She is a freelance writer – published recently in Mumbrella, AdNews and Mi3 – and is a former literary critic where she worked as the launch books writer for The Guardian Australia.

Her writing centres on literature, arts and culture, and has appeared in The GuardianThe Monthly, The Australian, The Age, ABC The DrumThe Big Issue, MeanjinKill Your DarlingsThe Lifted Brow, amongst others.

Bethanie has appeared on panels at the Melbourne Writers Festival, Sydney Writers’ Festival, Emerging Writers’ Festival, and the National Young Writers’ Festival.

In 2014-15 she had a regular books segment on ABC Radio National Summer Breakfast, and has been a guest on Triple J Sunday Night Safran, ABC Radio National Drive, ABC Radio National Books & Arts Daily, and literary podcasts The Rereaders.

She was a recipient of the ‘Australian Postgraduate Award’ prestigious research scholarship and has tutored in literary censorship and contemporary literature.
